Full-time Job Summary:
The Landscape Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates all landscape maintenance activities to ensure the aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor spaces. This role involves managing a team of landscape workers, scheduling tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, train, and mentor a team of landscape maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of work and productivity.
Maintenance Planning:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for lawns, gardens, trees, and other landscaping elements.
Quality Control:
Monitor the health and appearance of landscaped areas, conducting regular inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
Project Management:
Oversee landscape projects, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and irrigation system maintenance.
Budget Management:
Assist in budget planning and management for landscape maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Inventory Management:
Maintain inventory of landscaping supplies and equipment, ordering as necessary.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and best practices, providing training on safe handling of equipment and chemicals.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand their landscape maintenance needs and address any concerns.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in horticulture, landscape management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of horticulture, landscaping practices, and pest management. Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficient in using landscape maintenance software and tools. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Capability to stand, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods. •
