Exempt SUMMARY:
The Newcomers' Housing Alliance is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph whose mission is to offer refugees and immigrants a safe transitional housing opportunity. Rooted in supportive, loving and compassionate care for the 'dear neighbor', we provide a residential environment with opportunities to have basic human needs met in a restorative atmosphere. The Alliance consists of two transitional housing locations and a furniture distribution center. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all three facilities. The incumbent commits to incorporating the mission and vision of the Sisters of Saint Joseph in all interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform all basic repairs, replacements and upgrades required for both interior and exterior of all buildings Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inspections. Maintain a clean and safe interior and exterior of all buildings Enforce all safety policies, health regulations, and environmental standards (e.g., OSHA) Assist with the development of the department budget, vendor negotiations/ contracts, and purchasing equipment or supplies Arrange for contractual staff on an as needed and timely basis Oversee seasonal interior and exterior maintenance and installations as required Coordinate all volunteer activity at distribution center; on-site presence one day/week Supervise all distribution center activities to include accurate and timely inventory Facilitate clear communications and scheduling with those involved in distributions of furniture/household items for distribution center In coordination with House managers at both women's and men's residences, perform any and all needed maintenance, furniture delivery or repairs Maintain on-going communications with Congregational Property Director for periodic updates on status of all three properties
EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- Working HVAC, plumbing and heating knowledge and experience
- Proven experience in identifying, scheduling, and overseeing reputable outside contractors when necessary
- Competency in performing all needed basic repair and maintenance activities
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual preferred

EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
