DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will oversee operations within the Mechanical Maintenance division of the Steelmaking team, including supervision of mechanics and staff to achieve ArcelorMittal Calvert's business objectives. This manager will concentrate on managing the Material Handling System, Ladle Metallurgy Furnace, Ruhrstahl-Heraeus Degasser, Continuous Caster, and the Laboratory.

The Basics:

High school diploma or GED Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical team leadership/ management experience in a steelmaking shop required In depth knowledge of steelmaking Mechanical process and components. Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills Intermediate Computer skills to include SAP and Microsoft Office Excellent communications skills working with professionals, operations/maintenance personnel, and construction trades

The Extras:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Management, or similar field preferred 6+ years of Mechanical team management experience Technical knowledge of Caster, EAF, Ladle Metallurgy Facility (LMF), RH degassing, raw material handling system, and Fugitive Emission system desired

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Responsible for Safety, Environmental, Quality and Production for Mechanical maintenance team Lead and/or participate in incident root cause analysis and corrective actions for major and minor failures to include safety incident, environmental deviation, quality deviation, production loss. Ensure Melt Shop maintenance compliance with environmental regulations; Investigate safety, quality, environmental and production incidents Ensure mechanics are appropriately trained to perform their duty safely; Ensure work instructions & HIRAC are up to date for refractory Lead Mechanical team to achieve performance: production, cost, & quality KPIs Communicate and provide leadership and vision to Mechanical team Demonstrate and promote

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected.
