Fiberglass Mold Maintenance & Detailing Supervisor Location:

About the Role As the Mold Maintenance & Detailing Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in Marion, South Carolina (the world s second-largest fiberglass swimming pool production plant), you will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for the daily success of our mold maintenance and product detailing teams. You will directly supervise technicians who maintain, repair, and prepare fiberglass molds, as well as detail specialists who trim, grind, repair, and finish molded pools and spas to achieve flawless, high-quality results. This role combines strong team leadership with technical oversight to minimize downtime, ensure superior mold and product quality, support on-time production, and drive continuous improvement in a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with solid fiberglass/composites experience who enjoys coaching teams, solving technical problems, and contributing directly to high-volume production excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily mold maintenance and detailing operations, including mold inspections, repairs, surface preparation, patching, sanding, trimming, grinding, and finishing of fiberglass pools and spas. Motivate, train, coach, and develop mold maintenance technicians and detail specialists to optimize performance and skill development. Participate in hiring, onboarding, cross-training, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes for the combined team. Oversee quality control for both molds and finished products, identifying defects and implementing corrective actions to improve quality and extend mold life. Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, OSHA, and EPA standards, particularly in the handling of resins, solvents, and hazardous chemicals. Coordinate activities with production planning, engineering, and manufacturing departments to keep molds and detailing operations aligned with production schedules. Perform hands-on maintenance or detailing work as needed to support the team during peak periods or complex tasks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, material usage, and team performance. Looking For Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate s Degree or technical certification in manufacturing, composites, or a related field preferred. 4+ years of hands-on experience in mold maintenance, tooling repair, fiberglass detailing, or composite manufacturing. 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in the fiberglass or composites industry strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools and portable power tools. Intermediate MS Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced production setting. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose mold and product defects and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Physically capable of standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and performing hands-on work in a manufacturing environment. Positive, professional demeanor and a team-oriented mindset.
Compensation Base Salary Range:
$65,000 - $72,000 annually Actual compensation will be based on experience and job-related skills.
