About the
Role:
The Maintenance Supervisor in the Transportation, Warehousing and Manufacturing industries is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all transportation and warehousing equipment and facilities. This role involves coordinating and performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and operational disruptions by implementing effective maintenance strategies and responding promptly to equipment failures. Additionally, this position requires collaboration with other departments to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, the Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all maintenance activities contribute to the smooth and safe operation of transportation, warehousing and manufacturing services across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance roles within transportation, warehousing, or related industries. Valid South Carolina Driver's License Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in transportation and warehousing equipment. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to transportation and warehousing Preferred Qualifications and experience: Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline. Certification in maintenance management or relevant technical certifications (e.g., OSHA, EPA, or similar). Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Knowledge of lean maintenance practices and continuous improvement methodologies. Mechatronics experience Dock Door/Plate Repair Industrial Electrical Welding Equipment Maintenance Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life. Coordinate and prioritize maintenance requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution of equipment issues. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during maintenance activities. Maintain accurate maintenance records, prepare reports, and communicate maintenance status to management. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and cost control. Collaborate with operations and safety teams to identify and implement process improvements. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations to minimize operational impact. Travel to local Kimura facilities (Piedmont and Laurens) will be required as necessary.

Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing and motivating the maintenance team, as well as coordinating with other departments. Problem-solving skills enable the supervisor to respond quickly to unexpected equipment failures and implement long-term solutions. Additionally, knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance is critical to maintaining a safe work environment and minimizing risk.
