Walterboro Ford is growing, and we are looking for a Detail Manager who doesn't just clean cars—but runs a high-efficiency reconditioning operation . This role is critical to our success. You will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle—new, used, and service—meets our standards for presentation, speed, and consistency. Recon & Inventory Flow Management Manage the full lifecycle of vehicle recon: Trade-in Inspection Service Detail Frontline Track and prioritize vehicles daily Ensure all units are frontline-ready within target timeframes Work directly with Used Car Manager on priorities 2. Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, and manage detail staff Set daily production expectations Hold team accountable to quality and speed standards Conduct regular performance reviews 3. Quality Control Inspect all vehicles before being marked complete
Ensure:
No missed spots, stains, or odors Proper finishing (tires, windows, interiors, etc.) Maintain consistent standards across all units 4. Productivity & Efficiency Set and track daily/weekly output goals Eliminate downtime and inefficiencies Ensure proper workflow between service and detail Reduce recon time to improve inventory turn 5. Lot & Facility Management Maintain overall lot cleanliness and organization Ensure showroom vehicles meet display standards Oversee wash schedule for inventory and sold units 6.
Interdepartmental Coordination Work closely with:
Sales Managers (priority units) Service Department (timelines) BDC/Delivery team (sold units) Ensure vehicles are ready when promised Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Average Recon Time (
Goal:
