Paint Line Supervisor Fimco Industries - 3.2 N Sioux City, SD Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Team leadership Managing manufacturing teams Full Job Description The Paint Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading a high-performance team to execute a safe, efficient, and quality-driven paint process. This role ensures adherence to all process controls, safety standards, and company policies while driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. The Paint Supervisor partners cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize paint system performance, equipment utilization, and throughput within the manufacturing environment. Leadership & Workforce Development Build, develop, and sustain a stable, high-performing workforce Train and mentor employees on work instructions, equipment, and process standards Address performance, attendance, and behavioral issues in alignment with company policy Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with all safety policies and procedures Enforce PPE requirements and safe operating practices Support and lead injury and accident prevention initiatives Maintain a proactive safety culture within the paint department Operations & Process Execution Supervise daily paint operations to ensure adherence to established process controls Ensure all products meet established paint specifications Maintain optimal workflow, line density, and throughput within the FIMCO powder paint system Collaborate with upstream and downstream departments to ensure smooth production flow Technical & Process Ownership Maintain paint process capabilities and conformance while performing daily checks Establish and monitor standards for: Paint coverage (mil thickness) Cure profiles and oven performance Part preparation and acceptance criteria Optimize paint line performance, including: Conveyor systems Booth operations Cure ovens Material handling systems Education & Experience 2-3 years of powder coat and wet painting experience preferred 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience Required Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of: Paint application and coverage (mil thickness) Cure processes and thermal profiling Surface preparation and adhesion requirements Ability to: Profile parts based on material and curing requirements Optimize line density while maintaining safety and quality Implement and sustain best practices in masking and finishing Working knowledge of: Paint system equipment (booths, conveyors, ovens) Preventive maintenance coordination Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Fast-paced manufacturing environment with multiple concurrent operations Exposure to: Powered industrial equipment High-temperature ovens Noise, dust, and production activity Physical requirements include: Standing/walking for extended periods The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Bending, turning, and operating industrial equipment
