Job Description

Position We are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Equipment Supervisor to lead our fleet maintenance operations. this role oversees the care, reliability and performance of a diverse fleet of 75 class 8 tractors and multiple trailer types including vans, reefers, flatbed, specialized and ag trailers. the ideal candidate is a hands on leader who can manage people, parts, processes, and performance with discipline and accountability. Key Responsibilities Fleet Maintenance Leadership -Direct all in house repairs, preventative maintenance and shop workflow for a team of seven mechanics. Breakdown and Road Service Management -coordinate roadside repairs, vendor support and after hours response. Parts and Inventory Control -oversee purchasing vendor relationships, inventory accuracy and cost control. DOT and Compliance Oversight -ensure all tractors and trailers meet state and federal inspection requirements. Cross department collaboration -work closely with operations and safety to support uptime, dispatch needs and compliance. Maintenance Planning -develop and maintain PM schedules, repair standards and shop procedures. Team Development -Lead, mentor and evaluate mechanics to maintain a high performance shop culture. Budget and Cost Management -track maintenance costs, warranty recovery, and vendor billing accuracy.
Qualifications:
5+ years management in maintenance or heavy duty shop supervision. Strong knowledge of class 8 tractors, trailers and reefer systems. Proven leadership experience managing mechanics and technicians. Understanding of DOT, FMCSA and state inspection requirements. Ability to diagnose issues, prioritize repairs, and manage workflow. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with maintenance software.
