Maintenance for Head Starter (Closer)

Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Action Agency (CMCCAA) is seeking a dependable Custodian for our Head Start Program, a federally funded early childhood education program serving families in the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at the Lafayette Head Start Center. This position supports the health and safety of children, families, and staff by ensuring the facility meets all required standards through daily cleaning, sanitation, light maintenance, and groundskeeping. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, restrooms, offices, kitchens, and common areas Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility, including outdoor areas and playgrounds Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns Complete and submit required inspection logs and documentation Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies and equipment Perform light maintenance and minor repairs Assist with basic lawn care and grounds upkeep Monitor and request custodial and maintenance supplies as needed Support classroom staff with moving furniture or setup needs Assist with monthly fire and tornado drills and documentation Follow all safety procedures and guidelines Secure facility daily, including locking doors and setting alarm systems Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions Provide support at other CMCCAA locations as needed

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or GED required

Requirements:

Valid driver's license required

Experience:

Custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred

Skills:
