Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Marine dealership service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine service management specifically with outboard experience and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to our customers. The Service Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales through upselling services and maintaining customer satisfaction. Duties Oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Manage and train service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics and repair. Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire services. Maintain accurate records of all service transactions, including auto estimating and service writing. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies within the service area. Collaborate with sales teams to align service offerings with customer needs. Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies required for boat maintenance and repair. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in boat/marine technology. Requirements Previous dealership experience is REQUIRED, with a strong understanding of marine/outboard service management. Proficient in mechanical knowledge related to boat maintenance, including outboard and inboard/outboard service/repairs. Experience in marine diagnostics and repair processes is essential. Experience with Lightspeed DMS is a plus Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients regarding their boats needs. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and marine sales processes is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
