Job Summary:
Oversees the daily activities of the Maintenance Support Department across DMTN campus while providing technical leadership and direction to support the growing complexity of machines and technology in new manufacturing processes. This position will play an important role in aligning technical skill, knowledge, best practices, and resources among all of DMTN Production Maintenance groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees directly, and through leader reports, the daily activities of the MSD Team consisting of leaders, specialists, and lead techs. Develops and maintains strong cross-functional relationships across campus in order to develop effective organizational planning, skill development, and a culture of continuous improvement through machine reliability and enhancing the skills and abilities of both the MSD and Production Maintenance staff. Designs strategies, procedures and resource utilization with an end goal of improving Production Maintenance capability and improving equipment reliability, efficiency, productivity and performance. Quantifies and analyzes maintenance performance, equipment reliability, resource utilization, project management, and operating expenses for assigned areas. Creates operating budgets and capital budgets with other leadership team members. Manages department expense budget. Participates in the business planning and budgeting process. Develops short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies. Performs Human Resources activities including tracking of time and attendance, associate counseling, scheduling, evaluating work performance and assisting in skill development. Fosters high morale and teamwork by supporting the activities of subordinates through daily interaction and one on one contact. Provides technical expertise and next level support to the MSD team when necessary.
Note:
This position may require some off shift and weekend support (24/7 operation)
Qualifications:
Education Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
Required:
High School diploma/GED + relevant leadership/technical experience
Work Experience Preferred:
3+ years of Maintenance or Engineering management experience
Required:
8+ years of manufacturing experience including progressive leadership experience
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with Maintenance management methodologies and a proven track record in achieving positive results utilizing TPM tools and methods Strong technical skills in both electrical and mechanical problem solving Effective communication and diplomacy skills to guide and lead others Strong leadership with a demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects Ability to translate strategy into actionable information and monitor strategy achievement Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong organizational and time management skills People management
