Three years of experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternative workforces.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 6 months of employment, a class "D" Water Operator license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Experience with state purchasing guidelines.
Experience in proper tree care and pruning techniques.
Experience in trail construction and maintenance.
Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and janitorial maintenance and repair tasks.
Knowledge of supervision and leadership principles.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of natural and cultural resource management.
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skill in effective personnel management with ability to supervise, plan and assign work.
Skill in resolving problems or conflicts while fostering a team environment.
Skill in planning and completing minor repair or construction projects and trouble-shooting maintenance problems.
Skill in using various hand and power tools and mechanical equipment.
Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Skill in making independent, sound and timely decisions.
Skill in training others.
Ability to ensure quality of work performed by maintenance staff and volunteers meets division standards and expectations of customers.
Ability to uniformly interpret and help enforce TPWD rules and regulations.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Ability to operate and maintain utility systems in accordance with TCEQ rules and regulations.
Ability to conduct purchasing tasks in compliance with TPWD guidelines and directives.
Ability to maintain inventory of supplies, materials and equipment.
Ability to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.
Required to work hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Required to respond to emergency situations.
Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
Required to operate a State vehicle.
Required to travel 10% with possible overnight stays.
Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.

Under the direction of the Davis Mountains State Park-Indian Lodge Assistant Superintendent this position performs highly advanced (senior-level) supervisory maintenance and construction work. Responsible for leadership of maintenance duties at the Davis Mountains State Park- Indian Lodge Complex.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED.Experience:
Five years of general building trade experience, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, welding, grounds, motor vehicle, equipment and utility maintenance and repair experience.Three years of experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternative workforces.
NOTE:
Experience may have occurred concurrently.Licensure:
Must possess a valid State driver's license.Must possess or be able to obtain, within 6 months of employment, a class "D" Water Operator license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
