SUPERINTENDENT
- North Dallas Branch Position Overview This position requires a high level of dedication, leadership, and responsibility. The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial fence installations for Robinson Fence, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. About Robinson Fence Robinson Fence Company has been a trusted leader in the fencing industry since 1978 in Missouri, serving clients across multiple states. Our Texas branch specializes exclusively in commercial and industrial fencing, delivering high-quality, large-scale projects with efficiency and precision. Our reputation is built on integrity, reliability, and performance. We provide our team with the equipment, support, and experienced crews needed to succeed, along with a strong office staff that keeps operations running smoothly. At Robinson Fence, we take pride in our work, hold our teams accountable, and are committed to staying ahead of schedule—not catching up to it. Compensation $80,000 - $85,000 per year Company truck provided (for business use only) Personal cell phone required for daily communication with crews Benefits 7 paid holidays 1 week of vacation after 1 year of employment Health insurance (Robinson Fence pays 100% of individual premium; employee covers family coverage) - available after 90 days 401(k) with up to 4% company match after 1 year Job Expectations Maintain a positive attitude Stay highly organized Be punctual and present—this role is critical to operations Maintain proper appearance and attire Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.) Sign a non-compete agreement Manage multiple crews daily Integrity is essential: Do what you say you will do General Requirements Work hours: 6:30 AM - 4:30/5:00 PM (weekends as needed) Valid Class C driver's license with clean driving record Attend weekly company meetings Recruit and maintain a database of potential installers Work alongside crews to understand installation processes Assist with and maintain real-time master scheduling Call 811 before any digging Review and approve subcontractor pay applications Build strong relationships with crews Drive urgency to complete projects on time Maintain a clean and organized yard and warehouse Travel and out-of-town work as required Verify subcontractor insurance (General Liability & Workers Comp - required) Maintain an electronic task/to-do list Superintendent Responsibilities Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Set crews up for success on every job Confirm all materials are accurate and staged prior to project start Visit jobsites before installation to verify readiness and layout Monitor job progress and visit sites regularly Identify and resolve jobsite issues quickly Document job progress and issues using CompanyCam Complete punch list items when necessary Manage subcontractors, including pricing and contracts Inventory & Material Orders Maintain checklists for ordering small materials (hardware, fittings, fasteners, etc.) Ensure materials are stocked, organized, and job-ready Job Costing & Production Develop production schedules for projects exceeding 80 man-hours Track job progress weekly against production goals Review production with crews daily and weekly Vehicle, Yard & Equipment Maintenance Maintain logs for vehicle maintenance (oil changes, repairs, etc.) Ensure compliance with USDOT regulations Monitor equipment use and coordinate repairs Keep yard and inventory organized Assist with unloading deliveries when needed Properly store materials (pipe, fabric, lumber, fittings, etc.) Stack and secure lumber to prevent warping Return unused materials to proper locations Key to Success A large part of success in this role is organization and planning ahead. Be proactive, not reactive. High-Priority Objectives Stay ahead of every project—most success happens before installation begins Communicate clearly with customers and office staff on scheduling and job details Ensure every project is 100% ready before crews begin work Select, negotiate, and execute subcontractor agreements well in advance Maintain a clean, organized yard with all jobs staged and ready Hold all crews accountable: Verify crews are on assigned jobs Confirm schedules are being met Require photo documentation of progress Maintain a daily schedule for all personnel, including shop staff Provide clear direction—lead the team with purpose and accountability This is a leadership role that requires accountability, organization, and the ability to stay ahead of every project. Success in this position comes from planning, communication, and execution.
