As a Space Planner, you will support nationwide space planning, office layout development, relocation coordination, occupancy planning, and space utilization analysis for FPS facilities. This role is responsible for drafting and maintaining comprehensive space plans and supporting federal space optimization initiatives across approximately 180 FPS offices. This position is contingent upon receipt of award and candidate's ability to pass required background screening. Key Responsibilities Draft and maintain comprehensive space plans supporting FPS operational requirements and federal space utilization policies. Develop office layouts, seating configurations, and space allocation plans. Identify functional space requirements, workflows, occupancy needs, and departmental adjacencies. Conduct space utilization analyses and provide recommendations for optimization, consolidation, and efficiency improvements. Support relocation planning and coordination activities for offices impacted by operational requirements or federal building dispositions. Conduct onsite facility assessments, collect measurements, and document existing conditions. Prepare conceptual layouts, CAD drawings, markups, and space planning documentation. Coordinate furniture design, delivery, and installation activities. Support Program of Requirements (POR) development and space request evaluations. Prepare relocation scenarios, risk mitigation strategies, and occupancy planning recommendations. Coordinate with FPS leadership, GSA representatives, contractors, and stakeholders regarding space planning initiatives. Maintain accurate records within systems of record such as ServiceNow and other designated platforms. Support compliance with federal space utilization regulations and FPS-specific initiatives. Assist with preparation of executive briefings, reports, and presentations. Support build-out and reconfiguration project planning activities.
Qualifications Required:
U.S. Citizenship Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Facilities Planning, Space Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 8 years of space planning experience Active NCIDQ certification Experience supporting large-scale office space planning and relocation initiatives Proficiency with AutoCAD and space planning software Experience developing layouts, seating plans, and space utilization analyses Strong knowledge of federal space utilization practices and workplace planning principles Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to conduct onsite assessments and travel as required Valid driver's license
Preferred:
Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification Experience supporting DHS, GSA, or federal space management programs Experience using ServiceNow, Tririga, or similar systems Experience supporting occupancy agreement planning and federal workplace modernization initiatives Familiarity with federal facilities regulations and standards Experience supporting relocation coordination and furniture planning Strategic Results In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to delivering high-quality administrative and training support services that enable TSI to accomplish its mission of developing a skilled transportation workforce. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational excellence, effective coordination across divisions, and strong partnership with Government stakeholders. Your ability to align teams, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement will directly impact the success of the contract and the effectiveness of TSI programs.
