Job Description

Bachelor's degree in business or a related field and five years of custodial experience, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of custodial practices, janitorial equipment operation and maintenance, contract administration, and basic budgeting. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Demonstrated ability to set goals, track results, make sound decisions, manage projects independently, and communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Leads custodial operations in planning, budgeting, contract management, quality control, and operational execution for the Buildings and Grounds department to deliver efficient, high-quality services across Count facilities. Implements a sustainable best-practice custodial program using county and contract personnel to meet or exceed industry standards. Manages operating budget and recommend cost-effective use of resources. Develops and tracks performance measures; supervises and evaluates performance; oversees work planning and scheduling. Contributes to Environmental Health and Safety Management System and implements best practices to support safety procedures. Supports other trades supervisors as needed. Serves as designated staff during adverse weather or emergency events. Performs other work as required. Monday - Friday; 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. General Services
