Job Description

Vacancy Announcement Superintendent of Public Facilities Hiring Range:
$64,960
  • $71,450 Join our team and play a pivotal role in managing repairs and maintenance at our facilities.
We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to oversee various systems and teams, optimize operations, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee repairs and maintenance of facilities, including energy management of Siemens automation and fire alarm systems. Oversee and assist Keying program and Key records. Oversee and assist in the Preventative Maintenance program. Conducts Safety meetings. Manage and support the Maintenance Supervisor of Public Facilities, Custodian Supervisor, and Parking Garage Supervisor. Assist in budgeting and provide technical support to teams. Schedule and oversee contractors, implement new goals and procedures, and assist in budget management. Meet with supervisors to ensure timely completion of work. Address concerns from management and team members, providing support and advice. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local codes and schedule necessary repairs. Manage the city's energy management automation system for optimal performance. Train staff on energy management system operations and seek efficiency improvements. Obtain contractor quotes and prepare budgets for capital improvements and contracts. Order supplies and assist with technical support and training.
Minimum Requirements:
Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in building construction trades. Six years of experience or training in construction or construction management. Equivalent education and/or experience considered. Preferred Electrical, plumbing or HVAC license. Preferred or willing to obtain Certified Facility Maintenance certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of departmental organization, laws, ordinances, and regulations. Proficiency in construction practices and project management. Skilled in contract and budget administration, personnel management, and safety protocols. Ability to react calmly in emergencies and apply supervisory principles effectively. Strong organizational and prioritization skills for daily assignments. Capability to inspect work for compliance and enforce safety regulations. Excellent communication skills for maintaining effective relationships. Initiative to complete duties independently and learn new skills for improved performance. Proficiency in technical reading, record preparation, and mathematical calculations. Ability to perform under stress and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
