The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Work Control Center Manager. All work will be completed with a high level of quality, professionalism and full adherence to all safety policies and procedures. As the Maintenance Shutdown Coordinator (also known as a Turnaround or Outage Coordinator) you will be responsible for the following: End-to-end planning, and scheduling facility maintenance shutdown periods Apply project management methodologies to coordinate maintenance period activities and monitor progress. Act as the primary liaison between maintenance, operations and engineering Facilitate pre-shutdown and post-shutdown meetings to document lessons learned and review accuracy of work order close out in the CMMS Track, report, and present progress of each maintenance shutdown period Compile metrics for weekly schedule meetings Support the Work Control Center as needed These maintenance periods are critical for the preventive maintenance, major repairs, upgrades, and inspections that cannot be performed while the facility is operational.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Six (6) years of related experience in the maintenance field. Additional relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for a portion of the experience. Must be able to effectively communicate and follow instructions. Exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. The Safe Plan of Action (SPA) is a company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries: as such, it is the most important tool that we are required to use.
Work Environment:
Office environment. (75%) Test facilities and active work site environment - loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (25%) Travel between office and various facilities is required (
