Creative problem solver Proactive self-starter Life-long learner Strong team player Passionate about excellent customer service Positive, can-do attitude Effective communicator Desire to impart knowledge to others "Early adopter" of new technologies What You'll Be Doing This position performs leadership, supervisory and administrative responsibilities related to the maintenance and repair of assets located in the public rights-of-way, vegetation management in the rights-of-way and other publicly maintained land, support Town-sponsored special events, and responding to natural and manmade emergencies. Work includes planning, directing and supervising the operations of the Streets Division within the Department of Public Works and Capital Projects, preparing and managing the division budget, preparing materials specifications and contracted services. The position is also responsible for maintaining accurate asset and service records and inventory through a computerized maintenance management system, as well as overseeing special event support, emergency response operations, ice and snow removal, leaf collection and street sweeping routes. The supervisory duties include mentoring, training and evaluating the work of the division staff. For a more detailed job description, please visit the Town's Job Descriptions page . HS/GED Ten (10) years of experience in rights-of-way infrastructure maintenance and repairs Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment NIMS 100, 200, and 700 within six (6) months of employment Office management skills including a variety of software unique to government asset management and reporting Associate's Degree in Construction or a Business-related field Commercial Driver's License Experience with the Tyler Munis financial system or equivalent Experience with the Samsara system or equivalent NIMS 100, 200 and 700 Bilingual in English/Spanish Employee Benefits The Town offers competitive compensation, affordable health insurance coverage, participation in the Virginia Retirement System, an optional 457(b) retirement plan with a Town matching contribution, flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, employee assistance program (EAP), membership to the Town's full-service recreation center, an optional payroll Roth IRA, and generous paid time off.
