We combine innovative design, strategic insights, and analytical expertise to deliver impactful solutions that improve products and services. Strategic Space Planner We are seeking a Strategic Space Planner to support facility planning, space utilization, occupancy analysis, and workplace planning for a federal customer. The selected candidate will help assess current and future space needs, develop and maintain strategic space plans, coordinate customer requirements, and support efficient use of office and facility space. This role is ideal for a facilities, space planning, interior architecture, or commercial design professional who can interpret drawings, analyze occupancy data, coordinate with customers, and use planning tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Microsoft Office, and IWMS software. Key Responsibilities The Strategic Space Planner will: Conduct space utilization assessments and develop space allocation plans to support mission and personnel requirements. Create, execute, track, report, and maintain strategic space plans from initial requirements through completion. Coordinate with customers to identify, document, and resolve space and seating needs. Analyze workspace utilization and recommend layouts that improve efficiency, functionality, and employee experience. Conduct architectural surveys and gather space requirements for planned modifications or renovations. Develop rough order of magnitude budget estimates for space renovation projects. Coordinate with BIM/CAD teams to review floor plans and Design Intent Documents. Ensure design documents accurately capture customer needs and space requirements. Conduct bi-annual campus-wide facilities audits to validate occupancy levels and ensure space data accuracy. Harmonize occupancy data with automated occupancy tracking systems. Manage customer space requests and seat swap agreements between organizations. Track space plans, moves, occupancy data, and related projects using IWMS software. Prepare clear written communications, reports, and planning documentation for stakeholders. Required Qualifications Candidates should have experience with: Facilities planning, space planning, space utilization, or workplace planning. Interpreting construction drawings across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and IT disciplines. Applying space-related standards, including DoD real estate standards and BOMA square footage calculations. Using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Using IWMS software for space management, occupancy tracking, and planning. Preparing presentations, written materials, and SharePoint-based documentation. Working with customers to gather requirements, solve problems, and coordinate planning actions. Supporting facilities development or production activities in an Intelligence Community, DoD, federal, or similarly complex environment. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Commercial Design, Facilities Planning, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 7 or more years of commercial design, facilities planning, or related experience preferred. Experience supporting Intelligence Community facilities or mission environments is highly desirable. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a practical, detail-oriented space planning professional who can balance customer needs, facility constraints, occupancy data, and mission requirements. This person should be comfortable reading technical drawings, coordinating with BIM/CAD teams, analyzing space utilization, and turning complex facility requirements into clear, executable space plans.
