Job Description
Foreman - Property Maintenance & Seasonal Operations Thompson Site Services - White River Junction, VT Thompson Site Services is seeking an experienced, reliable Foreman to lead our Property Maintenance crew. This is a year‑round leadership position overseeing a team responsible for groundskeeping, landscaping, snow and ice management, and seasonal maple sugaring support. The Foreman will coordinate daily operations, ensure quality work, and support excavation crews as needed. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Crew Management Lead, train, and supervise property maintenance crew members. Plan daily tasks, assign work, and ensure efficient workflow. Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism. Communicate clearly with management, property owners, and team members. Monitor equipment, materials, and jobsite readiness; report needs proactively. Winter Operations Oversee snow removal from driveways, walkways, parking areas, and access roads. Manage ice treatment operations and ensure proper application of de‑icing materials. Coordinate and participate in maple sugaring support tasks (timing varies by site). Assist excavation crews with winter site prep, material handling, and traffic control. Spring & Summer Operations Direct mowing, edging, trimming, brush cutting, and general groundskeeping. Manage property cleanups, debris removal, and seasonal yard preparation. Oversee basic landscaping tasks including planting, mulching, and bed maintenance. Support excavation crews with labor, flagging, and equipment assistance when needed. General Responsibilities Ensure crew readiness for on‑call or overtime work during storms or peak seasons. Operate and maintain hand tools, trucks, and light equipment safely. Enforce site safety procedures and address hazards or equipment issues immediately. Maintain accurate daily logs, job notes, and communication with supervisors. Qualifications Must live within 45 minutes of White river Junction, VT. Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, snow removal, or property maintenance required. Supervisory or crew‑lead experience strongly preferred. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as needed. Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred. CDL or heavy equipment experience is a plus. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to lead by example. Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment checks and maintenance.
