As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an engineering and maintenance manager that will lead the engineering and maintenance functions for the plant, with primary responsibility for designing and improving production lines, driving equipment reliability, overseeing capital projects, and supporting the maintenance team with technical upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures equipment is designed for efficiency, safety, sanitation, and long-term sustainability within a frozen food processing environment.
Work Location:
On-site at our Pasco Location. Benefits of an Engineering & Maintenance Manager Competitive Wages, Range $145,000-$160,000 per year, depending on experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, layout, and integrate production lines for improved efficiency, throughput, and ergonomics. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or redesigns for reliability and productivity. Develop process improvements that reduce waste, labor, and downtime. Create drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation for new line installations or modifications. Work with Production to validate new processes, establish line speeds, and implement standardized settings. Maintain plant drawings, equipment lists, and asset documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, and all applicable regulations. Maintenance & Reliability Support Provide engineering support to the maintenance team for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure prevention. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for all non-freezer equipment. Oversee maintenance planning and scheduling to ensure safe and efficient work execution. Maintain accurate equipment records, manuals, and PM procedures. Support maintenance training on new equipment, upgrades, and systems. Capital Project Management Lead capital projects from concept through installation, including scope development, budgeting, vendor selection, and commissioning. Coordinate contractor activities and ensure all work complies with plant safety policies. Prepare project justification summaries and manage project cost control. Ensure installations meet sanitary design, safety, and operational requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Operations, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, and Safety on equipment improvements and process changes. Support the development of SOPs, safety procedures, and training materials related to new or modified equipment. Communicate effectively with all departments to minimize production disruptions during upgrades or installations.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience. Five or more years of maintenance, engineering, or process improvement experience in manufacturing (food industry preferred). Experience designing or integrating production lines and specifying equipment. Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude related to production and packaging equipment. Experience managing capital projects and working with equipment vendors. Familiarity with sanitary design, food safety requirements, and hygienic equipment standards. CMMS experience and understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance principles. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Essential Physical Abilities:
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods. Physical ability to operate computers, tools, and office equipment. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
