Job Description
The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years.
NJFC operates three production facilities:
Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager to be an integral member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for directing all plant maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment and facility/utility systems. This role coordinates mechanical and electrical work with plant management, supervisors, and support teams, including oversight of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical distribution/routing, vacuum systems, and plant utilities. The Plant Maintenance Manager develops, implements, and manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs and CMMS-based inventory and work-order systems to support equipment reliability, food safety, and production performance. Supervise and manage mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule to support production readiness. Thorough knowledge of food processing and packaging equipment, conveyor systems, freezing systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems (if applicable). Plan, assign, and coordinate preventive/predictive maintenance activities including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, power transmission, welding/fabrication, balancing, and alignment. Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and controls (control circuits, sensors, instrumentation, VFDs, and HMI/automation-related issues) to minimize downtime. Oversee the operation, installation, repair, and maintenance of plant utilities and systems including water, gas, steam, compressed air/vacuum, and electrical systems.Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical or electrical or related field or the equivalent in vocational experience. 7-10 years of industrial maintenance experience and 3-5 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems including 480V three-phase power and motor controls, with the ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Experience troubleshooting PLC systems, sensors, relays, and automation equipment, with strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.Benefits:
