Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Utilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead electrical and industrial refrigeration operations in our beef processing and cold storage facility. This role is critical to plant uptime, food safety, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and oversee essential systems including electrical infrastructure, ammonia refrigeration, and wastewater lagoon operations . What You'll Do Lead & Develop Your Team Supervise and schedule electrical and refrigeration technicians Coach, train, and hold team members accountable to performance and safety standards Coordinate work to support production, sanitation, and cold storage operations Keep the Plant Running Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all utility systems Prioritize work orders through CMMS to maximize uptime Respond to breakdowns and lead troubleshooting efforts Electrical Systems Oversight Maintain power distribution, MCCs, motors, VFDs, and PLC systems Troubleshoot electrical issues impacting production and storage Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards Refrigeration Systems (Ammonia) Oversee compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls Maintain temperatures across processing, blast freezing, and storage Ensure compliance with
OSHA PSM, EPA
RMP, and IIAR standards Wastewater & Environmental Systems Oversee wastewater lagoon operations including pumps, aeration, and controls Monitor system performance and ensure regulatory compliance (NPDES, discharge limits) Maintain reporting (DMRs) and support audits and inspections Partner with production and sanitation to manage wastewater loading Food Safety & Compliance Support USDA and food safety requirements Partner with QA to maintain hygienic equipment conditions Prepare for and participate in audits Safety Leadership Enforce LOTO, arc flash, confined space, and ammonia safety programs Lead incident investigations and corrective actions Promote a strong, proactive safety culture Continuous Improvement Improve preventive maintenance programs Track KPIs (downtime, PM completion, system efficiency) Support capital projects and system upgrades What You Bring Experience 5+ years in industrial maintenance (food or meat processing preferred) Strong experience with ammonia refrigeration systems 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Technical Skills Electrical systems, PLCs, and troubleshooting expertise Experience in cold storage or processing environments Familiarity with CMMS systems Education (Preferred) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field - or equivalent hands-on experience Certifications (Preferred) RETA (CARO, CIRO) Electrical license OSHA safety certifications Work Environment Cold storage and freezer environments Wet, washdown production areas Industrial equipment and ammonia systems On-call or off-shift support as needed Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 (based on experience and internal equity) Health, dental, vision, and retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities Why Join Rainier Pure Beef Company?
