Job Description

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and/or performs the repair and maintenance of production equipment, building systems, custodial work and special projects to support production improvement initiatives. This Maintenance Supervisor resolves most problems independently and receives general supervision from the Operations Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary : Train, coach, motivate, and mentor team members. Develop and implement training documentation, work instructions, onboarding procedures, and employee development plans. Collaborate with IEA Engineering, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Materials, and Manufacturing Engineering departments. Leads, Manages and Supervises maintenance and janitorial staff, assumes administrative duties therein. Identifying maintenance problems, recommend solutions and implement corrective procedures. Manage fleet vehicle upkeep, maintenance, repairs, usage tracking, replacements. Manage service contracts and internal routine maintenance of lift truck fleets. Negotiate and monitor grounds keeping contracts for grass care and snow removal. Research and obtain quotes for required contract work for building maintenance or improvements, manage timelines, budgets, and activity of commissioned contracts. Oversee functionality and initiate required repair or replacement of building system components, infrastructure, and facilities. Participate and make recommendations for capital expenditures. Actively participate in environmental health and safety initiatives throughout the plant. Work with other department personnel to properly support all the company's maintenance needs and requirements. Works in a safe manner at all times. Ensures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to IEA's Safety, ISO and Quality standards. Physical Demands:
Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 50 (infrequently), 25 (occasionally) Maximum moving requirement (pounds): Over 100 with assistance. Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent lifting, carrying, standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body. Working at heights off the ground up to 30 feet.
Vision requirements:
Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Environment:
Work location: Metal fabrication/assembly shop and indoor/outdoor storage areas.
Exposure to:
Fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment including overhead cranes, sharp/heavy materials, inclement weather.
Personal protective equipment requirement:
Safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes. Key skills, abilities, and knowledge: Ability to communicate (oral/written). Ability to direct and lead subordinates and others safely and efficiently. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, etc. Ability to plan, organize and direct multiple work activities simultaneously. Ability to read, understand and interpret field documents, shop drawings and blueprints. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts preferably. Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience Five or more years of maintenance or related experience is desirable. Supervisory experience is desirable.
Educational:
Related technical training (high school or beyond) is desirable but not essential.
