ABDM is seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to develop and lead the maintenance operations for large shipping and distribution warehouse. Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at ABDM is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive maintenance and upkeep of large shipping and distribution warehouses, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cleanliness. This role involves managing maintenance activities, coordinating with the maintenance team, vendors, and contractors, and supporting the Account Manager in aligning facility operations with ABDM standards. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in developing preventative maintenance strategies, responding to reactive maintenance needs, and enforcing safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee maintenance staff and subcontractors to ensure efficient and compliant operations across all facility locations. Mentor and train team members, fostering a safe and supportive work environment while promoting operational excellence. Coordinate with janitorial, technical, and safety teams to ensure consistent service delivery in line with ABDM's quality standards.
Preventative & Reactive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for critical facility infrastructure and essential building systems. Maintain high functionality of critical conveyor systems. Address and manage all reactive maintenance requests, including troubleshooting, repairs, and liaising with outside vendors for specialized services as needed. Maintain and manage inventory control for essential spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring readiness for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Uphold rigorous health and safety standards, ensuring that all team members follow safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and are trained in emergency response procedures. Conduct routine safety audits and inspections, coordinating with the Account Manager to align findings with ABDM's Health & Safety Management Program.
Vendor, Contractor, & Stakeholder Management:
Oversee the scheduling and quality of services provided by vendors and contractors, including janitorial services, landscaping, pest control, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and more. Ensure all contracted work meets ABDM's quality standards, from routine inspections to specialized repairs. Work with the Account Manager and other internal and external stakeholders to assess vendor performance, implement quality improvements, and negotiate service agreements as required.
Reporting & Communication:
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports detailing maintenance activities, completed work orders, and safety inspection results. Communicate maintenance plans and updates effectively with the Account Manager, site managers, and team members to ensure transparency and alignment. Participate in regular meetings with warehouse client representatives to review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), safety audit results, and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred. 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, including supervisory or team lead roles. Exceptional knowledge of conveyors and conveyances systems is required. Strong knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, and preventative maintenance best practices. Proven understanding of safety regulations (OSHA), emergency response, and proactive maintenance planning. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members. Proficiency in Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) or similar software preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving client needs.
Working Conditions:
This position requires on-site work at a large shipping and distribution warehouse. Availability for after-hours or weekend emergency maintenance as required, especially during peak seasons. Physical demands include lifting, standing, bending, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
