POSITION SUMMARY
Acts as a front-line extension of the Shop Manager's authority in supervising technicians enganed in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly carries out supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel to include training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures that all company and industry regulated policies, procedures and practices are followed. Organizes equipment, shop personnel, and work load to meet work requirements. Initiates and dispatches repair orders, schedules warranty work and conducts lot checks as needed. Assists drivers with repair write ups as needed. Ensures regular maintenance and cleanliness of premises and that tasks are completed efficiently, effectively and safely. Responsible for the warranty part and core return processed. Receives/carries out instructions and maintains regular and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to effectively supervise and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3 years related experience and/or training; or a Bachelor of Applied Science in Diesel Technology; 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LUCENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid CDL Class A driver's license preferred EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 and 609 within 90 days of hire date Forklift Certified
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The nature of the environment is one in which the employee may come in contact with outside weather conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or extreme heat and ecessive noise levels. OTHER Safety shoes (composite or steel toe) required.
