E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S
Oversees Approved Projects Assures that facilities contracted services (outsourcing) are related to construction materials and equipment installation is in compliance withNFPA 99, NFPA 101, IBC, NEC, NFPA
72, CMS and Joint Commission Standards. Constantly monitors the IMH environment in order to provide a safe and healthy atmosphere for IMH employees, patients, visitors, medical staff members, board members and members of the public. Reviews architectural and engineering services qualifications, cost proposal reviews, estimating and managing the construction contract services related to new construction and renovation. Assist Hospital Managers and Administration in planning and estimating for construction and equipment installation. Ensures all projects are complete including all necessary approvals and inspections. Coordinates job assignments for the department. Checks and approves work orders, labor logs, supply requests and mileage reports. Analyzes and coordinates the repair of all hospital owned equipment. Assists in identifying and correcting complex maintenance problems Other duties as assigned.E D U C A T I O N
Bachelor's degree in Management or Professional certification in Plant Management, Safety or related fields preferred.E X P E R I E N C E
Ten (10) years of experience in a supervisory, director, or maintenance technician position required. At least Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare environment. Previous experience in contract negotiations. Previous experience managing multiple departments preferred.C R E D E N T I A L S
Must have or must complete the CHFM certification.K N O W L E D G E , S K I L L S A N D A B I L I T I E S
Working knowledge of applications and implementation of various regulatory agencies and standards (Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, CMS and DOT), infection control, general safety, electrical safety (NEC), and life (NFPA 101, NFPA 99) safety. Working knowledge of the main physical plant systems (boilers, medical gases, electrical and plumbing distribution, backup systems, elevators, safety alarms, etc.). Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing. Demonstrate effective listening skills. Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively. Possess exceptional problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision. Ability to learn new computer software programs. Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
