Job Description

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS ESTIMATED TO BE FROM JULY 6, 2026 - AUGUST 28, 2026 POSITION WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 HOURS PER WEEK SUMMARY
Incumbents will learn introductory training as it relates to the Field Customer Service Department to include observation of reading water meters on an assigned route and recording information into an electronic handheld; shadowing staff to Investigate, evaluate and resolve customer complaints related to excessive water consumption; identify and report water meter equipment problems including damage, malfunctioning, and tampered with meters/equipment. Interns will gain knowledge of meter maintenance activities, including service turn ons/turn offs, new meter installation, meter replacement, and meter box clean outs; learn the functionality of automation to proactively identify meter-related problems, and work with customers to resolve the issues. Interns will receive on the job training and gain critical experience for higher-level operational knowledge and skills. Interns will observe and may gain experience in contacting Surprise residents and customers and will learn to always provide " Industry Leading Customer Service " and understand the culture of creating/retaining satisfied and happy customers.
