Utility Meter Reader

Responsibilities :

Read water meters and record data using handheld devices Identify and report irregular usage or system issues Install, inspect, maintain, and replace water meters Assist with utility operations (water main breaks, sewer issues, flushing, etc.) Communicate with residents, property owners, and contractors Support billing accuracy and field investigations (e.g., high water usage) Maintain records and assist with inventory and reporting

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma or GED 1 year of related experience (or equivalent combination of training/education) Basic math, reading, and communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team Licenses & Certifications (or ability to obtain) : Valid Class A Restricted CDL (with tank & air brake endorsements within 6 months) Water Distribution & Wastewater Collection certifications Confined Space & Flagger certifications First Aid, CPR & AED certification

Work Environment:

Spend up to 95% of your day walking outdoors Work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks Use safety equipment in compliance with regulations Pay & Benefits $21.1100 - $22.5000 per hour (DOE) 401(a) Matching Plan and 457
