ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Encompass the ability and knowledge to both read, service, and install multiple types of meters and wireless submeter monitoring systems. This position is the go-to for troubleshooting and answering questions about submeter hardware, monitoring system, the manual meter reads, and routes. 50% installation work, 45% service work, 5% meter reading Install, repair, and inspect water meters, meter pits and meter reading equipment, valves, pressure regulators and flow testing meters. Accurately read manual meter read routes using NCSS smart phone app at the same time each month and submit in a timely manner Answer questions from supervisors, or any other Guardian employees, about service work orders or manual read routes. Respond to customer service requests, not limited to rereading meters and checking for leaks. Complete site inspections and keep and turn in accurate records of site inspections. Provide pictures of water submeters, city meters,remotes or NoWire when asked by supervisor or any other Guardian employee regarding service work orders or manual read routes. Maintains accurate records of work performed Safely install, remove, program and upgrade submeter hardware infrastructure. Follow schedule (Google Calendar) as set by Guardian Technical Services Administrator, Supervisor, Project Manager or Sales Keep company vehicle cleaned and organized. Follow all meter reading, technician, and installation processes as forth by Management. Other job duties deemed necessary by management
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma required Valid Driver's License required: Must have a clean Driving Record Must have reliable transportation and carry current automobile insurance: required Ability to stand on feet / walk for a majority of your shift: required Overnight travel is required and sometimes on short notice Consistent attendance on required workdays Must be able to pass a drug test and background check Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time. Must be able to read written instructions, write legibly, understand verbal instruction, make simple computations, complete daily work assignments, and transpose numbers accurately. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with unexpected situations on customer premises such as; irate customers, unfriendly dogs, meter tampering, and the unexpected. Ability to comprehend new hand-held technology; i.e., Cell Phones, GPS, PDAs, Digital Cameras Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs., ability to comfortably walk at a steady pace throughout the workday, and ability to utilize hand tools as needed.
