JOB SUMMARY
THE
OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking reliable, physically capable, and highly motivated Field Technicians / General Laborers. This hands-on role is central to Canyon State Filtration's operations. You will play a crucial part in both constructing brand-new water treatment facilities from the ground up and providing essential physical labor for routine service and maintenance of existing plant infrastructure throughout the state and southwest. Our work focuses exclusively on above-ground installation, assembly, and maintenance of treatment plant equipment. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable with challenging physical tasks, willing to travel extensively, and takes initiative whether working alone or as part of a team crew. This role emphasizes consistent strength, teamwork, and practical trade skills and mechanical understanding.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Your day-to-day work will involve a hands-on mix of construction labor and technical support:
Physical Construction & Assembly:
Engage in general labor tasks associated with water treatment equipment fabrication and assembly, including material handling, glueing, bolting, threading, and site setup within both the main shop and outdoor field environments. Assist skilled crew members by assembling, positioning, and installing various types of utility piping connections using methods like adhesive joining (PVC) and flanged coupling systems (Ductile Iron), copper, brass and stainless steel. Measure, cut, position, and maneuver heavy materials (pipes, fittings, equipment components) to fit engineering plans.
Field Service & Maintenance Labor:
Travel with a crew to various plant sites to assist in hands-on maintenance and service calls. Manually handle equipment removal, replacement, and connection of parts in confined or difficult areas. Perform media change outs, including using industrial vacuums to remove filter media and install new filter media into treatment systems. Execute tasks requiring manual labor at heights or in constrained spaces (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, confined spaces).
Operational Logistics & Safety:
Operate company vehicles (trucks) safely for transportation to job sites across the state, and operate light construction equipment such as forklifts and industrial vacuums. Ensure all tools and safety equipment are properly managed before leaving site and upon return. Adhere strictly to stringent industrial safety procedures, especially those related to confined space entry and working at height.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITY
The ability to perform consistently strong physical labor in varied settings is mandatory. Thissection must be understood by all applicants.
Physical Stamina:
Must possess the sustained physical capacity for general manual labor (lifting 50 lbs daily, with periodic capacity up to 75 lbs).
Technical Aptitude:
Basic mechanical understanding and comfort working with utility piping materials (PVC, iron, carbon steel) is required. Basic familiarity with basic tools of the trade (wrenches, levels, etc.) a plus.
Work Ethic & Professionalism:
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, and willingness to work in diverse environments (various weather, indoor/outdoor settings). Must demonstrate respect for customers and property.
Credentials:
Must possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record for state-wide travel using company vehicles.

While the role is focused on general labor tasks, we provide full training and structure to help our most dedicated employees grow into highly specialized roles (e.g., Welding, Lead Technicians, Supervisors).
Compensation:
Overtime work is expected and paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate.
Travel Scope:
Projects can range from local assignments in the Verde Valley to projects across the state or into neighboring states; out-of-town travel will be expected and compensated accordingly.
