OVERVIEW
The Journeyman Plumber ensures the Safety of those we work with and around, the Quality of the services we provide, and the realization of our Profitability goals as it specifically relates to the commercial installation, assembly, fabrication, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of mechanical plumbing systems.
RESPONSABILITIES
Meet all requirements of a 4-year Apprentice Install sanitary systems, water systems, fuel systems, fixtures, and mechanical equipment Knowledge of all tools, equipment, and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the commercial plumbing industry Direct the activities of field crew member(s) in accordance with job schedules and priorities as coordinated with the project manager/customer/general contractor and field foreman as applicable Submit daily job progress reports to supervisors as required Responsible for ordering stock or fabricated materials as far in advance as possible either personally or through the site foreman to ensure completion of assigned tasks Responsible for physical job site organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of company equipment as well as monitoring the use and timely return of rented equipment Responsible for the accurate accounting of labor hours to the accounting department, material sheets, change orders, etc. Responsible for instruction and on-the-job training of apprentices/crew members which includes emphasis on safety Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards. Ensure that all necessary inspections are made through all phases of work ensuring quality standards are being met Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy Promote Design Mechanical's business values and culture Promote proper use of company assets Regular and predictable attendance is expected to meet the requirements of this position Other duties as assigned within the Plumbing Department
QUALIFICATIONS
4-year apprenticeship certificate or 4 years of field experience Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction pipefitting practices and safety procedures Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards Responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary licensing/certification for performing work in areas where such is required Journeyman tools Reliable transportation to and from work required
