Job Description
Position Summary The Mechanical Helper supports technicians and mechanics in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial boiler systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the mechanical trades while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This position offers opportunities for advancement into roles such as Boiler Technician or Pipefitter/Welder through on-the-job training and skill development. Key Responsibilities Assist boiler technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of boiler systems and related equipment Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites Clean and prepare work areas before and after jobs Help with disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition Observe and follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Perform general labor duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to use basic hand and power tools Strong work ethic and reliability Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow directions and safety protocols Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to heat, noise, and dust Work Environment Commercial and industrial job sites Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions May require occasional travel to job locations
