Job Description

An employee in this position is responsible for performing heavy lifting, general maintenance and repair of machines, and mechanical equipment. Work is subject to inside and warehouse environmental conditions. Work is performed with a high degree of independence. This position will support both the Research & Development Manager and the Engineering Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Make basic plumbing and electrical repairs as needed for storage bins and cold rooms. HVAC-R experience preferred but not required. Maintains accurate repair logs and record standard operating procedures. Assisting with the daily physical cleanliness of the workshop. Working experience with machine shop equipment including, power tools, lathe, mill, saws, drill press, break. Perform routine shop maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or other preventive maintenance actions. Ensure proper and safe functioning of power tools and equipment for fabricating manufacturing parts. Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings/CAD drawings. Other duties as assigned.

Basic knowledge of shop operation HVAC-R knowledge Ability to follow established policies and procedures Ability to maintain and keep accurate records Able to work independently with minimum supervision Able to communicate effectively in oral and written forms Able to follow instructions and organize work duties accordingly Able to be flexible in work assignments and accept changes in duties and work assignments as needed
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Graduation from high school and four years of experience in a related position or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred higher level technical training.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a hands-on position and the individual must be physically capable of safely operating a variety of tools and equipment to accomplish the duties and responsibilities as outlined above. The individual must be able to tolerate extremes in outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. This position may require heavy lifting and moving up to and possibly in excess of 50 pounds repeatedly. The individual must have the ability to provide flexible working hours when necessary and may have to work early morning, late evenings, nights, or weekends.
