Your Day on 2nd Shift Step into our shop and take ownership of complex rotating equipment work. You'll receive incoming horizontal and vertical pumps, evaluate their condition, and plan the teardown. Using manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools, you'll methodically disassemble, inspect with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other M&TE), and document findings. Once repairs are defined, you'll reassemble to exact tolerances, verify clearances, and prepare units for testing or shipment. Overhead cranes and fork trucks help you maneuver large components safely while you interpret blueprints and schematics to guide each stage. What You'll Tackle Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild large pumps across multiple designs Read and interpret blueprints/schematics; set up foundations/fixtures for assembly and teardown Operate a full range of manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools Use M&TE (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to inspect and verify critical dimensions Work to precise tolerances and standards of accuracy Safely use overhead cranes and fork trucks to handle heavy components What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent 7+ years as a pump mechanic or similar role rebuilding large pumps/rotating equipment Hands-on proficiency with wrenches, impact tools, and a range of power/hand tools Overhead crane and forklift operation experience Ability to read and use inspection instruments accurately Clear written and verbal communication Manual dexterity, control precision, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Working Environment The environmental characteristic for this position is an industrial setting with large machinery, overhead cranes, trucks and forklifts. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment.
