Conhagen Midwest Job Summary Conhagen Midwest is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to join our growing team in Joliet, IL. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining rotating equipment at customer facilities and in our shop environment. Equipment serviced may include pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, motors, and related mechanical systems. We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul rotating equipment. Perform disassembly, inspection, measurement, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related equipment. Conduct precision measurements, alignments, and dimensional inspections. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Identify equipment issues and recommend repair solutions. Maintain accurate documentation, inspection reports, and job records. Follow all company safety policies and customer site requirements. Assist with equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities. Support shop and field service operations as workload demands. Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications Required Authorization to work in the United States. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. High School Diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely use precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Willingness to work in both shop and field environments. Ability to travel to customer sites as required. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Preferred Experience working with pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, motors, gearboxes, or other rotating equipment. Industrial, refinery, power generation, manufacturing, or mechanical maintenance experience. Vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical education in a mechanical trade. Knowledge of precision measurement, alignments, and equipment inspections. TWIC Card or ability to obtain one. OSHA training or other industrial safety certifications. Work Environment Combination of shop and customer-site work. Indoor and outdoor work environments. Moderate noise levels around machinery and industrial equipment. Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots. Overtime may be required based on customer and business needs. Travel may be required depending on project assignments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around industrial equipment. Ability to safely maneuver throughout shop and plant environments.
