POSITION SCOPE
The Scraper Operator operates heavy machinery to manipulate earth and rock at a construction site. Must be able to operate a scraper according to project specifications. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment daily. Position requires extensive overnight travel.PRIMARY DUTIES
Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals Assist with setup and tear down of plants Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisor Must be able to lift objects weighing 75 lb. on a regular basis The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup Report any incident to the Supervisor or safety team Clean and maintain equipment -Perform routine inspection of assigned equipment and report any needed repair to the supervisor Always maintain 3 points of contact on all pieces of equipment Respond to signals and directions by other staff members and work in coordination with them Operate the equipment in adherence to safety policies, procedures, job site and/or traffic laws Report any safety violation to the Supervisor Perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be at least 18 years old 2+ years' operating a diverse range of heavy equipment preferred Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination Comfort working in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications Work well in a team environment. Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch Ability to read grade stakes and operate transit preferred Position requires extensive overnight travel Fisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
