Grinder

Grinder - Production | 1st Shift | $23.00 /hr The Young Industries, Inc. is seeking a Grinder to join our Production team. In this role, you will support manufacturing operations by grinding and cleaning weldments and castings to prepare products for machining, painting, and final assembly.

Job Requirements:

Operate hand power tools to perform grinding and cleaning of weldments and castings. Learn and become familiar with all grinding tools and grinding procedures required to produce satisfactory cleaning of products to be machined, painted, or final assembly. Learn and become familiar with polishing techniques used during special applications and able to obtain specified finishes for the equipment. Ability of work under minimum supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Vocational or high school graduate preferred plus appropriate training required to obtain a general knowledge of materials and techniques. Applicant will be evaluated based on education and work experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses hand tools, power tools, and various shop machinery as required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. The employee must be available during the first shift work hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expected to work eight (8) hours a day and forty (40) hours a week to maintain full-time status. Occasional overtime work will be required as job duties demand.
