Position Overview:
RJ Tide provides comprehensive design-build construction services for agricultural clients and serves as a leading concrete subcontractor in the Sioux City market. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Drafter to join our Ag team. The ideal candidate will have experience creating accurate technical drawings for construction and manufacturing projects with a strong understanding of drafting standards and project documentation. The Drafter will be responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining drawings for construction-related projects. This role requires strong AutoCAD proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure drawings are completed accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed shop drawings to support the fabrication of miscellaneous metal components using AutoCAD LT. Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Revise and update existing drawings based on specified changes and project markups. Create and revise technical drawings, plans, and layouts. Interpret sketches, specifications, field measurements, and project documents. Assist with drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation. Coordinate with internal teams to update drawings and resolve drafting questions. Report directly to the drafting supervisor and support others in the department as assigned. Self-driven and dependable, with strong time management, organization, prioritization, and collaboration skills. Complete additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma and relevant experience in a drafting-related field required; an associate's degree in drafting or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of drafting experience with AutoCAD is required. A background in surveying or 3D scanning is desirable.
Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD. SolidWorks experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience in construction or agricultural project environments is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to a collaborative team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Additional Information:
Preferred Work Location:
Main Office. Potential Hybrid/Remote work location depending on qualifications. Occasional site visits may be required to gather information for site layout and design. These visits may involve working at heights or in confined spaces. Ability and willingness to perform these activities is preferred but not required for employment. Training and mentorship will be provided to support ongoing professional development and long-term success in the role.
Pay:
$48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
