Millwright Mechanic Location:
Hartsville Paper Shops Wage:
$30.34 - $38.61/hr + weekly incentive - based on experience
Shift:
8hr first shift, flexible and available for shift rotations, weekends and holidays and call-ins as needed

The Millwright Shop is seeking a highly qualified Millwright Mechanic with a minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic. This role requires a skilled professional with strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, process-driven environment. What you'll be doing: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in rigging and equipment handling Strong metalworking and fabrication skills, including cutting and welding Familiarity with process equipment used in a paper mill environment Thorough understanding of industrial safety procedures and best practices Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair: Mechanical systems Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Precision installation of mechanical components including: Couplings Bearings Pumps Rolls Motors Gearboxes Other industrial equipment using advanced alignment tools Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to: Access and utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Create work orders Identify and locate parts in inventory Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance, including: Visual and sensory inspections Equipment performance evaluation Lubrication practices Use of diagnostic tools such as vibration monitoring and thermography Experience with machining equipment, such as: Lathe Milling machines Grinders CNC machines We'd love to hear from you if: Demonstrated quality workmanship and strong attention to detail Proven work ethic and reliability, including a strong attendance record Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, management, and customers Strong commitment to safety excellence Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Effective problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work in a variety of industrial conditions and environments At Sonoco Products Company, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits.
