Job Description Taylor Farms Texas Job Description/Role/Responsibilities Mechanic Helper Job Duties and Responsibilities Can and willing to take direction from Managers and ability to work well with others PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be issued as needed and must be worn at all times inside of production Will be trained in and must follow HACCP, GMP and Safety guidelines Will be trained in specific job duties Report all problems and concerns Always adhere to GMP guidelines throughout the facility Maintain the integrity of HACCP (Food Safety) plans as it relates to your job function(s). Understand and follow safety procedures Work in a team environment Perform other reasonable job-related duties as requested Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeter. Operate repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. Repair and replace broken or malfunction components of machinery and equipment. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. Working on PM's on equipment assigned. Record repairs and maintenance performed work orders. Apply knowledge of basic protective equipment requirements, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, OSHA and GMP etc. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic, control systems. Work independently on maintenance projects as assigned by department management. 2.0 Education/Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and write clearly in English, bi-lingual a plus Must have basic math skills preferred. 3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Language Skills - Must be able to read and write clearly in English, bi-lingual a plus. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and manuals Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 4.0 Physical Requirements Be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (8hrs) repetitive work Some physical effort is required, i.e. Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs on a consistent bases, stoop, squat, bend, and reach. Must submit to post offer, pre-employment drug test and employment history check. 5.0 Equipment/Software Used Will be trained to operate any computer software as needed and required within the company. 6.0 Work Environment Must be willing to work in refrigerated warehouse environment - Cold/Wet 38°F Must be able to workdays, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed.
