DOE Overview:
The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas compression equipment in field and facility settings. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency of compression systems by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and supporting safe, continuous operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on compressor packages and associated equipment. Assist with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues on compressors and engines. Support maintenance and operation of compressor packages, including Caterpillar, Waukesha, Ariel, and similar equipment. Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance concerns. Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues. Assist with planning and scheduling maintenance activities. Support other field locations and mechanics as needed. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of compression, production, or related oil & gas equipment experience. Basic knowledge of compressor packages and associated systems. Experience with Caterpillar engines required. Experience with Waukesha engines preferred. Experience with Ariel compressors preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to safely work in outdoor environments and industrial settings, including extreme weather conditions; climb ladders and stairs; work in confined spaces; stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and maintain balance; operate heavy equipment such as cranes and manlifts; lift up to 50 pounds as needed; and wear all required PPE, including FR clothing, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields, and steel-toed boots. Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
