Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and reliability activities for rotating equipment and mechanical systems within an industrial facility. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, compressors, and associated equipment while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established maintenance procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance personnel, engineers, and operations teams to support equipment reliability, plant uptime, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment. Maintain and repair centrifugal pumps, transfer pumps, gear pumps, positive displacement (PD) pumps, positive cavity pumps, and air compressors. Support maintenance activities for instrument air compressor systems and related equipment. Review work orders, job plans, and job packs prior to execution. Estimate work scope and labor requirements to support maintenance scheduling and completion timelines. Assist engineers with equipment evaluations, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning activities. Support the preparation of maintenance estimates and repair recommendations. Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Utilize job safety analysis tools and participate in all required safety programs. Identify potential safety hazards and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented before beginning work. Obtain required work permits and communicate delays or issues to supervision. Document maintenance activities, equipment history, inspection findings, and repair records. Provide feedback to improve maintenance procedures, job plans, and work packages. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance. Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Skills and Qualifications Technical certification, trade school training, apprenticeship completion, or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience. Experience maintaining and repairing centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, positive displacement pumps, positive cavity pumps, and air compressors. Knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance procedures. Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, permit systems, and hazard identification. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document equipment conditions and recommend corrective actions. Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing schedules, deadlines, and operational needs. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history documentation. Willingness to work overtime, call-outs, and varying schedules as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, oil and gas, or processing facilities. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience supporting reliability and preventive maintenance programs. Knowledge of vibration, alignment, and rotating equipment performance monitoring techniques. Work Environment Industrial facility and field environment. Frequent exposure to rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, piping systems, and mechanical machinery. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when required. May require lifting, climbing, bending, and extended periods of standing and walking.
