Job Description

Lubrication Technician Summary The Lubrication Technician is responsible for the inspection, lubrication, preventive maintenance, and basic repair support of bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment throughout the sand plant. This position helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation by performing routine maintenance tasks and assisting maintenance personnel during equipment repairs and shutdowns. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine greasing and lubrication of industrial bearings, motors, conveyors, rollers, pulleys, and related equipment according to maintenance schedules.
  • Inspect and maintain gearboxes, including checking oil levels, changing oil, identifying leaks, and monitoring operating condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rotating equipment for signs of wear, overheating, vibration, contamination, or failure.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs, breakdowns, shutdowns, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Replace or assist in replacing bearings, seals, belts, and other mechanical components.
  • Maintain accurate lubrication and maintenance records.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report unsafe or abnormal operating conditions to supervision.
  • Keep lubrication systems, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Safely operate hand tools, grease equipment, power tools, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment as required.
  • Follow all MSHA and plant safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and fall protection requirements.
  • Support housekeeping efforts throughout the plant and maintenance areas. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous industrial maintenance, lubrication, or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to use grease guns, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to identify common mechanical issues such as leaks, bearing wear, and abnormal vibration/noise.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and industrial environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor including climbing ladders, walking uneven surfaces, bending, and kneeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Preferred Skills
  • Experience in aggregate, sand, mining, asphalt, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Familiarity with predictive or preventive maintenance programs.
  • Forklift, manlift, or welding experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lubrication schedules and industrial lubricants.
