Job Description

Precision Millwright Job description Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on rotating equipment such as conveyors and conveyor drives, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, filters/dust collectors, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, belt-driven equipment, and rotary valves. Performs and/or provides oversight of various Preventive (PM) maintenance tasks and functions, including alignment checks, oil analysis, as part of a condition-monitoring program for mechanical equipment. Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures. Execute job assignments in accordance with the daily schedule as prepared by the Maintenance Supervisor. Utilize laser alignment tools and apply precise measuring techniques using calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, bore gauges, and dial indicators to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances to ensure optimal equipment alignment and function. Fabricate and weld parts for repair, retrofits, and modifications Identify bolts and understand torque specifications, using torque wrenches to ensure proper assembly and operation of equipment. Perform detailed root cause analysis on failed equipment, seeking solutions for long-term reliability and improvement. Maintain effective working relationships with other employees and collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime. Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability and productivity. Execute and/or provides oversight of any emergency repair activity, as required. Safely operate forklifts and other heavy equipment, power tools, hoists and hand tools to move and place large/heavy items. Must have a good working knowledge of rigging procedures and hand signals Read and interpret diagrams and schematic drawings(to include structural and hydraulic) as well as service manuals to determine work procedures Maintain a safe work environment and the safety management of assigned employees. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss. Required to complete safety inspections of the assigned work area; thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, job safety analysis and have periodic safety meetings Report to work on time on a consistent and regular basis Other duties as assigned
