Competitive + Bonus πŸš› Company Truck, Gas Card, Per Diem Provided Position Overview Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Traveling Superintendent with a strong millwright/mechanical background to lead field operations across industrial job sites, primarily within paper mills throughout the West Coast. This role is highly hands-on and requires a leader who can oversee crews, coordinate with customers, manage schedules, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will act as the key point of contact between customers and millwright crews, driving successful project execution in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage millwright crews (typically 4-14 personnel) across multiple job sites Serve as the primary liaison between customers and field teams Oversee installation, repair, disassembly, and reassembly of industrial equipment (primarily in paper mills) Coordinate daily operations, manpower, materials, and equipment Develop and manage project schedules, including 2-week look-ahead planning Prepare and support job quoting and estimating activities Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet deadlines and budget requirements Maintain daily reports on job status, manpower, and issues Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and project specifications Conduct safety meetings and enforce OSHA compliance and PPE standards Troubleshoot and resolve field issues in real time Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role in industrial or construction environments Strong millwright or mechanical background (required) Proven experience leading and managing crews in the field Experience with quoting, estimating, and scheduling Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment Willingness to be on-call and travel regularly Work Environment & Travel Projects located across WA, OR, ID, and CA (primarily paper mills) Travel varies by project (typically a few days at a time) 24/7 on-call rotation required Exposure to industrial environments and varying weather conditions Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + team-based bonus structure Company truck (take-home), gas card, phone, and laptop Per diem + company-paid hotels (individual rooms) Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with match + ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) Company-paid short-term & long-term disability Life & AD&D insurance PTO and paid holidays Employee assistance program Pre-Employment Requirements Must pass background check, drug screening, and MVR check Valid driver's license required No DUI within the past 5 years No more than 2 driving violations in the past 3 years Additional Details OSHA certifications provided (OSHA 30 for Superintendents) TWIC card not required but may be obtained Structured interview process including multiple interviews and assessment Position based out of Tacoma, WA Ideal Candidate A hands-on leader with a millwright background who can: Run crews effectively Communicate with customers confidently Manage schedules and project execution Step into an existing team and lead from day one INDH
