Job Description

Role Overview Join our team as a versatile millwright-welder who diagnoses, repairs, installs, and maintains complex industrial machinery and systems across the facility. A Day in the Life You'll move from one challenge to the next—keeping production assets safe, reliable, and efficient. Dismantle, assemble, install, or fabricate equipment such as mills, pulverizers, conveyors, crushers, and rotating systems with belts, chains, fan housings, blowers, and motors. Pinpoint faults and perform repairs on general plant equipment including mills, pulverizers, crushers, and conveyors. Rig, move, position, and set heavy and bulky components using proper load-handling techniques. Evaluate whether removed components should be salvaged or scrapped and act accordingly. Perform welding and cutting to repair, build, or enhance metal components and assemblies. Interpret blueprints, follow verbal directions, and apply original ideas to complete work to specification. Apply your craft skills anywhere in the plant as needed and collaborate with other trades. Tools & Equipment You'll Rely On Typical craftsperson's hand tools Grinders Electric or gas welding and other cutting apparatus Transportation vehicles Overhead cranes Oil cans and grease guns Work Environment Assignments may involve heights and/or confined spaces. Work independently with minimal supervision or alongside other maintenance crafts. Expect a variety of conditions depending on area: hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license Successful completion of a skills assessment Willingness to work shift and rotating schedules, including daily and weekend overtime and call-outs for repairs/breakdowns; support preventive maintenance and root cause analysis 4+ years of manufacturing and/or heavy industrial experience in a skilled trade Core Proficiencies Equipment troubleshooting Machine building and assembly Mechanical troubleshooting Pneumatics Motor replacement, repair, and maintenance Conveyor chain replacement Hydraulics Accurate tape measure reading General maintenance and repair Rigging and load handling Mechanical assembly Equipment repair and maintenance Equipment installation Excellent communication skills Blueprint reading Machines & Technologies You'll Work With CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) MIG Welder Turning Lathe Industrial/Parts Washing Systems TIG Welder Environmental Technology Systems Stick Welder Refrigeration/Cooling Systems Power Distribution Units (PDUs) Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Diesel Vehicles Sit-Down Forklift Industrial Controls Pallet Jack Power Tools Manual Lathe Crane SMAW Welder Aerial Devices Boom Crane CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) Industrial Blender / Mixer Flatbed Truck / Pickup Truck Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Extrusion Machine Manual Vertical Mill Overhead Crane Palletizer Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Horizontal Machining Center (3-4 axis) Vertical Lathe Conveyor Systems Forklifts Pelletizer Machine Sliding Table Saw Band Saw
