Job Description
Lucix Corporation, a subsidiary of HEICO's Electronic Technologies Group has steadily evolved to become the world leader in RF Active and Passive Units, Subsystems, and Assemblies, for Commercial, Civil and Defense Satellite Payloads. Lucix also provides RF hardware for Airborne and Ground Systems. All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and shipped from Lucix facilities in California, USA. We are seeking an experienced Tune and Test Technician with an understanding of microwave test techniques and equipment, with a broad understanding of modules such as amplifiers, filters, synthesizers, mixers, and plexers in the 5 MHz to 50 GHz frequency range.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Test and align (Tune) RF amplifiers (LNAs/SSPAs), Filters, Mixers, Oscillators, and Converters up to 40 GHz
Testing includes environmental tests such as vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, and EMI/EMC tests both on and offsite
Configure and perform tests including (but not limited to) 1dB compression (P-1), C/IM3, noise figure, PSAT, harmonics, continuous monitoring, s- parameters, k-factor, and spurious
Tune hybrid microwave circuits and modules using wedge bond and gap weld technology
Tune PC board based microwave circuits
Troubleshoot DUTs and test stations down to the component level
Perform all relevant testing
Propose ideas to improve efficiency and repeatability for tuning

AA degree in electronics or equivalent on the job experience of 5+ years
Strong knowledge and understanding of microwave theory and application
Strong knowledge of Ohm's Law and Kirchhoff's Voltage Law
Strong knowledge of coaxial and waveguide connector sizes and their characteristics
General knowledge of materials, processes, and assembly techniques used for HI-REL hardware, and have good mechanical skills
General understanding the challenges and techniques of tuning using hybrid and PCB microwave circuits, to include Wedge Bond, Ball Bond, and Soldering
Familiar with the various test equipment, including but not limited to: power meter, PNA-X, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzer, and strip chart recorders
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to present problem solving strategies
Must be able to read schematics, assembly and wiring diagrams, process and parts specifications, and test procedures
Strong attention to detail
Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Teams Preferred Requirements:
Ability to differentiate between DUT and equipment failures
Proficient knowledge of RF Power and necessary precautions and set-up
Previous experience with Bench and ATE construction and troubleshooting
Ability and willingness to help train fellow technicians
