J-PRIMES Senior Field Engineer GRADE:

Exempt; Regular Full-time

LOCATION

J-PRIMES, Eglin

AFB, FL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential job functions include: proficiently operate power amplifiers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, EMI receivers, position controllers, digital oscilloscopes, network analyzers, advanced video equipment, and specialized unique RF test equipment used to in support of

installed systems testing. Maintain and verify the shielded test area RF isolation. Perform routine maintenance of fiber optic connections, link equipment, and test laboratory equipment.

GENERAL DUTIES

Support conduct of technical activities required to achieve the

test mission including: RADAR target and ECM generation, threat emitter simulation, EMI measurements, EMC measurements/testing, RCS measurement, communication/navigation noise floor measurement, GPS testing, and antenna pattern measurements. Perform routine operation of simultaneous test missions. Operate and maintain the

systems and equipment required for test execution and general support. Provide senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Must work with senior level personnel to perform developmental activities to ensure reliability, maintainability, and interoperability, and to improve and modernize the facility. Work independently in nearly all cases with rare need to rely on principal level expertise on problems of exceptional difficulty. Job Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Two-year technical degree in Electronics. Fifteen years total test experience with at least 5 of these years directly supporting the testing of RF systems in an installed system test environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Supports E-OMS operational objectives.

Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area in an office setting on Eglin AFB, FL.
