This role is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong operational and technical background across the electromagnetic spectrum who thrives in an innovative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the design, integration, troubleshooting, and enhancement of advanced sensing technologies while collaborating closely with engineers and mission-focused operators. Candidates with advanced communications systems experience and demonstrated RF technical expertise are also strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Analyze electrical, electronic, and mechanical component designs used in broadspectrum electromagnetic sensing systems Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and optimize hardware and subsystem performance Collaborate with the Team Lead and engineering staff to evaluate system performance and recommend design improvements Develop, implement, and validate system modifications and instrumentation updates Provide technical expertise in: System integration, Laboratory testing, Installation planning, Field support Support the assessment of new capabilities, mission concepts, and operational employment methods Produce design packages, interface control documentation, and technical reports Document and brief trade studies, test events, analyses, and technical findings Recommend process and workflow improvements to enhance system performance and operational efficiency Assist with prototype development, test planning, and capability transition efforts Required Qualifications Minimum 10 years of active-duty military or equivalent operational experience Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining one or more of the following: Electronic Warfare systems, Communications systems, Radar systems, Electromagnetic sensing and detection systems Experience with: Detection processing, Tracking algorithms, Anomaly detection, Spectrum management, Data fusion Hands-on proficiency with RF and general laboratory test equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, Digital multimeters, Power supplies, Signal generators Technical expertise in one or more of the following: Electromechanical systems (motors, gyros, synchros, control systems), Electro-optical systems (cameras, lasers, associated sensors), RF systems (antennas, amplifiers, diplexers, filters, coaxial distribution) Strong technical writing and documentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams Strong initiative, curiosity, and problem-solving mindset Ability to interface professionally with government, military, and industry stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or higher in the STEM field Experience with data management, analytics, and visualization tools Familiarity with relevant DoD, government, or industry technical standards Recent operational or technical support experience within SOF, ISR, EW, SIGINT, or R D environments Prior experience supporting prototype development, experimentation, or technology transition Security Requirements U.S. Citizenship is required Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance An active clearance, or one inactive for less than two years, is strongly preferred Who We Are Mystic Spear is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) dedicated to delivering mission-driven technology solutions that enhance warfighter effectiveness across complex operational environments.
